About the Instructor – Jayasankar Sekar

Mr. Jayasankar Sekar is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher with over 16 years of study, practice, and teaching experience. Yoga has been part of his life since childhood, and his passion later led him to formal studies at the Asana Andiappan College of Yoga & Research Centre, Chennai, where he completed his Diploma in Naturopathy & Yogic Science.
He also trained under Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher Sri Nandakumar ji, a direct disciple of Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar, and deepened his knowledge at Swami Dayananda Ashram, Rishikesh, where he studied yoga, Satsang, chanting, and Sanskrit under Swami Brahmavidyananda Saraswati and Swami Abhishek Chaitanya.
Jayasankar has taught extensively in India, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand, leading classes, retreats, and corporate yoga programs. He has also conducted yoga sessions at Kalaalayaa Yoga Centre, Annamalai Matriculation School in Tiruvannamalai, South India. His compassionate personality, clear teaching style, and passion for yoga have earned him recognition among students worldwide.
Alongside teaching, he devotes his time to Yoga Therapy, helping and supporting those with health challenges. Currently teaching as a freelance yoga teacher, he continues to inspire dedicated students to improve health, wellness, and quality of life through yoga.

- Assisted and accompanied his Guruji in workshops and retreats across India for 3 years.

- Conducted classes at Kalaalayaa Yoga Centre, Annamalai Matriculation School, and Surya Healing & Research Centre in Tiruvannamalai.

- Devotes time to Yoga Therapy to support students with body illnesses.
- Specializes in Iyengar Yoga principles with strong focus on alignment, pranayama, and yoga therapy.
